HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR FELCO TOOL
SHARPENING
Sharpen your tool in the course of the day when it becomes dull. Use a Felco 903 sharpener
• Sharpen the edge
• Pressure on the edge
• Remove the burr

ADJUSTING
Adjust your tool in the course of the day or when required. Use a Felco 2/30 adjustment key.
• Remove the spring
• Free locking segment
• Adjust the tightness
• Block locking segment
• Fully open and release
• Blade crossing should be between 1/2 and 2/3
• Spring back in place
CLEANING & OILING
Clean and oil your Felco tool at the end of the day.
• If wet, dry with cloth
• Spray cutting head with cleaning spray
• Use adjustment key to scrape sap off blade, off the sap grove and off the anvil blade edge
• Spray oil
COMPLETE CLEANING
At least once each season a complete cleaning of your tool including dismantling and greasing should be
done.
• Use a metal brush to remove dirt and rust from the cutting head
• Remove the spring
• Unlock the locking segment
• Unscrew and remove the nut
• Remove the blade
• Brush all metallic surfaces to remove dirt and rust
• Use cleaning spray on blade and anvil blade
• Use adjustment key to scrape dirt and rust from blade and anvil blade
• Finish cleaning blade and anvil blade with abrasive sponge
• All components clean and ready to be reassembled
• Fix anvil blade then grease external surface
• Load the grease pocket
• Grease external side of blade before assembly
• Place bolt and load with grease
• Finish cutting head assembly
• Adjust cutting head and then place spring
• Oil cutting head and spring
