Astrology for the Soul
May is a month of surprises
and revelations, as we may
find new ground for ourselves
after the potency of the eclipse
season that ended in April.
Pluto, Lord of the Underworld
turns retrograde on the 2nd
May, beckoning a time of
integration and taking stock of
the lessons we learnt around
personal and collective
shadow that have been
revealed since Pluto moved
into Aquarius in February.
The solar eclipse last month
asked us to clear out the past,
fully claim our sovereignty and
accept that we are responsible
for ourselves. Whilst this is the
first step, we may find that with
Pluto retrograde square Venus
in Taurus, what’s left is a
delicate operation of learning
to love all the parts we were
previously not able to own.
Valuing ourselves despite the
enactment of shadow parts in
both self and other is
imperative, as we learn how
what’s suppressed may play
out on the outside. The last
month showed us how our
inherited relational patterns
affected our ability to be in our
power, the main integration at
this Pluto retrograde point is to
fully let go of the karmic
lessons and learn to inhabit
the new embodied space
inside of us.
With the psychic fall out of the
Plutonic awakening and Venus
in Taurus, it may be tempting
to try and rationalize the
feelings that the losses of
attachment can bring. Instead,
we are invited to turn inward
with a soft gaze and feel it all.
Cycling through the feelings
can land us into a new place
where we can enjoy and
appreciate the simple things in
life. We have an opportunity to
earth deeply in the fecundity of
our being, anchoring a more
conscious version of ourselves
into the temple of our own
bodies, creating a steadiness

of existence away from
complexities that keep us so
enslaved.
On 3rd May, Mars in Aries
sextile Pluto signals it’s also
time to pick things up where
you left off now that Mercury is
in direct motion. You may
experience a lot of energy and
drive to get things done, but
caution against working
so zealously that you come up
against opposition or forge
ahead against the grain. Whilst
it’s advisable to focus and
realize your own projects,
steadiness and teamwork are
important at this time.
The new Moon in Taurus on
the 8th May further invites us
to pick up the energy and
make plans to ground in our
new vision since the solar
eclipse, as the Sun in Taurus
is sextile Saturn in Pisces.
Mercury in Aries makes its
final conjunction with Chiron,
so at this new Moon we are
