our conditioned human mind . Its hatred, its
judgements, its eternal grasping and pushing
away and its endless confusion.
The more we can witness our own neurosis
dispassionately, and without judgment, the more
conscious we become if it.
And as Carl Jung said, ‘when you make the
unconscious conscious, it stops directing your
life, and you become free of fate.’ In this process
of awaking to the higher mind, first comes
stillness and contentment. A happiness starts to
arrive, which bubbles up from within us. As we
free ourselves from the burden of believing in
our own insanity.
And then as the Buddhists say, ‘when the water
becomes calm, it can reflect the light of the
moon more clearly.’ This parable points to the
light of the moon as the higher self or Buddha
mind.
It’s the place which the Buddhist heart sutra
points to as: ‘being and nonbeing, inner and
outer, absolute still darkness and the absolute
light which illuminates it, are in harmony with
each other.
At this point, spiritual texts, and the need to
channel other beings falls away, as a light of your
own divine authority awakens.
In the words of Rumi :
“I have been a seeker, and I still am, but I stopped
asking the books and the stars. I started listening
to the teaching of my Soul.”
I hope you allow yourself to find this beauty
within your own being, to let go of your illusory
disconnection from the true love, light and
beauty.
Until we connect to the highest self, we will
always feel a little lost, the truth that we take on
is usually other people's opinions, philosophies
that make sense to us, but change overtime. But
as we awaken to our own higher Mind, we start to
see that over the years it seems to speak simple
truths which are unchanging.
My teacher in India used to have a question he
would ask everyone; who are you?
People would answer the way they'd been
programmed to answer, with their name, perhaps
their career or the position they had in society.
To which he would often say no! You are a soul;
you
are
the
universal
consciousness
masquerading as a person.
We cast these subtle spells on ourselves every
day, I am just, I can’t, I’m only.
It’s understandable when operating in society
that we use familiar labels. But do you ever just
pause and then perhaps looking in the mirror in
the morning Say, I am a child of God, a child of
immortality, I am all that is, ever was and ever
will be, temporarily experiencing a physical body.
This is how your higher self will refer to you if you
ever ask it who am I?
To conditioned self, that we call the personality,
there is some limitation, but the higher self is
free of the karmic body and free of those
limitations.
To this higher mind, what we call physical
existence, is a huge blank canvas, and through it
we can create a masterpiece of self-definition.
To understand the teaching that :
Psychologists believe that experience whatever
we think that we are within our own experience.
That we live up to our own definitions, that we all
live out a confirmation bias.
‘God is love, and those who dwell in that love are
already one with divinity.’
2000 years ago, the Buddha famously taught
that …
