Astrology for the Soul
We begin the month of June with Gemini
season in full swing as Jupiter, the
visionary planet of expansion, joined the
Gemini party along with the Sun and
Venus in late May. Planetary activity is
busy in the first week of June, starting with
Mercury also entering the sign of the
twins, strengthening the Gemini mood and
highlighting communication, curiosity and
sociability as the themes of the month.
Taurus season gave us the opportunity to
recalibrate and evolve our self worth
frequency, grounding in the lessons from
the intensity of planetary activity during
April. The dreamy Sagittarius full moon in
May highlighted that anything is possible
right now, if we allow ourselves to let it in.
Now that the karmic lessons of the last few
months are integrating, the theme of
taking full responsibility for our lives and
believing in oneself is the key to claiming
our power and authority to create the life
we want, as the north node, continuing
through Aries signifies. All we need to do
is dream and we can manifest.
Jupiter and Venus are the great benefics;
now traveling together in Gemini after their
recent conjunction in Taurus, they become
the great social and inclusive welcomers,
affording us a very outward, warm and fun
energy as summer begins for even the
most retiring amongst us. Relationships
will continue to be the focus but from a
different perspective, Venus and Jupiter in
an air sign are about philosophising and
pontificating in terms of how we relate,
giving us a great opportunity to reflect on
the lessons of the eclipse season with a
newfound conviviality and curiosity. Bright
new perspectives are offered so we can
come out and play in a lighter, more
expanded frequency with lovers, friends,
neighbours, associates and community
alike.
Jupiter in Gemini can result in too much
information, so with many exciting new
ideas and opportunities, distraction may
be strong and the need focus increasingly
apparent. All the fast moving air energy
can signify too much thinking, so
techniques to sooth the nervous system at
this time are recommended. We may need
to consider how much social media we are
consuming and whether the new
technology we embrace is a help or a
hinder in our daily lives.
Mercury, fresh out of a sextile with
dreamy, spiritually orientated Neptune
correlated with us finding our ability to
speak compassionately, so that
conversations don’t become about
outwitting each other, too light, sharp or
shallow to really get us anywhere,
especially in its home sign of Gemini.
Neptune infuses Mercury with the
unconditional love of a pure heart. In fact,
heart purification will be a theme as
Venus, the planet of relationships,
harmony and pleasure will conjoin the Sun
on the 3rd, sextile the north node in Aries
and trine south node in Libra.
Any planet conjunct the Sun is known as a
Cazimi meaning ‘heart of the sun’ in
Arabic, it happens twice in the Venusian
synodic cycle, once retrograde and now
direct. As the energy builds some painful
relational truths may arise as the Sun
shines a strong light on any Venusian
shaped shadows for us to become
conscious of. Take heart that clarity will
come as the conjunction highlights
eventual epiphanies in love, affording us

great opportunity to illuminate our
relational patterns as Venus crosses the
centre of our solar system. The Cazimi is a
moment of rebirth as we evaluate and
clear that which is no longer serving us.
Mercury conjunct Jupiter forms a trine with
Pluto in Aquarius on the 4th, a powerful
alignment supporting the infusion of the
facts with thinking both deeply and
objectively about matters the of the heart
highlighted by Venus, merging this with
the wisdom of knowing that the ultimate
truth is beyond the perceived ‘right and
wrong’ of previous events we may have
experienced during eclipse season in late
March and April.
Take heed, as Jupiter correlates with the
making of assumptions, so in order to find
the truth we are being asked to master
effective communication and get curious
enough to ask the difficult but penetrating
questions to garner understanding beyond
old perceptions, stories and gossip. If we
can keep as cool headed as the planets in
air signs suggest, we are now able to clear
things up, course correct relations and
dissolve past misunderstandings to realign
with the truth. Through this process we will
find which relationships and beliefs we find
supportive and conducive to our inner
peace and happiness as we let go of the
old and recalibrate a new way to
interrelate with the world.
The New Moon at 16 degrees of Gemini
on the 6th June travels along with Venus
in a continuing relational theme. The Sun,
Moon and Venus conjunction is in an
applying first quarter square with Saturn in
Pisces. This is a test, of how much we
have learnt and moved on from our karmic
relational imprints to start afresh on new
