On July 10th, The Bahamas will celebrate 50 years of independence! Grand Bahama has officially
kicked off a year-long series of celebratory events, festivals, and concerts, and in this issue we will
highlight the many elements that make Grand Bahama uniquely Bahamian.
The cover of this jam-packed independence issue was shot by renowned Grand Bahamian
photographer Alfred Anderson, and features Miss Grand Bahama Universe ‘23, Beyonce Forbes,
wearing a custom necklace created by Bahamian designer Tenisha Carey of Baha Gala. The
photoshoot took place on the stunning sand banks of Fortune Beach, and was intended to showcase
the charm, talent, creativity and beauty of the island.
This issue will also highlight the upcoming Grand Bahama Restaurant Fest, as well as a number of the
attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and activities to be enjoyed while on the island.
