Stop by Lucayan National Park and take a short hike to the historical Lucayan Caverns, the world’s longest
surveyed underground cave system. Just across the street is Gold Rock Beach, with its crystal clear shallow
waters - it is what dreams are made of.
Want to do more than relax at the beach? Paradise Cove is a secluded yet easily accessible location that
provides access to Deadman’s Reef – and rarely can you find snorkeling right off the beach that is as intricate
and teeming with life as it is here. A short ride from Paradise Cove is another beach where you can see the
coveted Bahamian swimming pigs. This was a very fun and chaotic experience for our family to say the least!
Looking for an interactive experience with marine mammals? Sanctuary Bay is a natural 9 acre lagoon, home to
tweleve Atlantic Bottle Nose Dolphins. Their focus is on education through interaction, and I can say they are
amazing at what they do.
Now that you know what to do, let’s talk about where to eat! Bahamian cuisine is full of flavor and something to
savor. Smith’s Point is a Wednesday night Bahamian tradition with some of the BEST fresh seafood you will ever
try. Pier One has one of the most unique settings on the island, with shark feedings every night. Sabor Restaurant
offers an innovative fusion menu and trendy atmosphere.
Our family has fallen in love with Grand Bahama Island, we will be back!
