between, diners can enjoy authentic
Bahamian cuisine, the island’s unique Smith’s
Point Fish Fry, fine dining or a casual
beachfront meal. The Restaurant Fest will
showcase the flavourful food that can be
enjoyed on Grand Bahama, and will make it
as easy as possible for visitors and residents
to try something new.
The Restaurant Fest, which is being hosted by
the Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board,
will run from August 1-31, 2023, and the
complete lineup of restaurants and events will
be announced in early July.
ABOUT LOBSTER SEASON
Bahamians often use the terms "crawfish"
and "lobster" interchangeably, but the
Bahamian lobster is actually a spiny
lobster.
The Bahamian Lobster Season starts on
August 1 and ends on March 31 the
following year. This is to allow local
lobster populations to replenish. Without
giving the shellfish a break, waters could
easily be overfished, which could
negatively
impact
future
crawfish
populations.... And, once they're gone;
they're gone.
If you're looking to enjoy lobster season,
be sure that you are adhering to local
guidelines.
