After an extensive global search, in April
Lisa Letchford OLY was announced as
the College’s new Head of Hockey. Lisa
has an outstanding track record as both
a player and a coach, capped 97 times
for England and Great Britain, playing at
the World Cup in 2006 and the Beijing
Olympics in 2008. Lisa’s coaching career
took her to Belgium where she gained
invaluable experience, becoming head
coach of the Belgium Girls’ U18 squad
and Assistant Coach to the Men’s Indoor
National Team. In 2020, she and her
husband Simon returned to the UK to
allow Lisa to take up the position of Lead
Talents Development Coach for England
Hockey and Head Coach of the England
U18 Girls’ squad. We look forward to
welcoming both Lisa and Simon to the
team.
As the girls began their netball season,
Hannah-Grace S was selected for
the Mavericks Futures programme at
U18 level, whilst Grace G and Poppy S
represented Su昀昀olk at U15 and U13 level.
In November, the U14, U16 and U19 netball
teams all competed valiantly at the Su昀昀olk
County Finals. The U16s only just missed
out on a Regional Final spot and were
terri昀椀c all day. Alicia P, Hannah-Grace S
and Grace G were all named as players
of the day.
In February, it was the turn of the U11A
girls who competed at the IAPS Regional
Quali昀椀ers, 昀椀nishing second in their group
of seven and going through to the 昀椀nals of
the Cup Competition, where they gained
a silver medal, with just one goal stopping
