Connecting
with yourself
Reconnect with
your body
Most people find looking at themselves in
the mirror a difficult task. After surgery, it’s
normal to feel even more self-conscious.
After the operation, I couldn’t
bear to even look at myself.
Now I see every scar as a war
wound, showing how strong a
person I really am.
Regularly checking in with yourself by looking
in the mirror and noticing your feelings can
help start the healing process. So you can
begin to appreciate how wonderful your body
actually is.
The Mirror Image
This first exercise is designed to help you become familiar
with your new body, to connect with all your body parts and
your body as a whole. What’s beautiful? What’s unique? And
what stories does your body tell - about you and your journey?
