Artisan Painting &
Decorating marks successful
milestone projects
Heritage decorating specialist Artisan Painting & Decorating is celebrating the success of three major
projects in central London.
The work has focused on the Royal Academy Schools,
the oldest art school in the country, Chandos House, the
one-time home of the Austrian Embassy, and Frederick’s
Place, a project carried out for The Mercers’ Company an organisation incorporated under a Royal Charter in
1394.
“We worked with contractor Knight Harwood on the
prestigious Royal Academy Schools - a project that is
transforming existing space to deliver a fully accessible,
flexible and high quality work environment for staff and
students.
“Founded in 1769, the Royal Academy Schools, based in
the heart of the Royal Academy of Arts, is a Grade ll*
listed building in Piccadilly and is the country’s oldest art
school. Our brief was to provide high-quality decorated
finishing, able to stand up to the scrutiny of Royal
Academicians.

walls, ceilings, floors, skirting, joinery and woodwork including window frames and fittings, architraves, dado
and balustrades, taking care to preserve several areas of
historic interest.
Mr Bradley said: “We have been extremely pleased with
the success of three recent high-profile projects for
