Setting a frameless glass door into a structural screen or
entrance porch can provide such a minimal result that
you can barely see it! Ion installed this dramatically
designed porch to the exterior of a heritage barn
conversion, following the angle of the roof with a bold
sweep of structural glass. The front door is fully secure,
providing an effective and stylish result.
The barn project also included a number of internal doors
in opaque glass, providing privacy for the bathrooms - each
one was individually designed to work around the oak roof
timbers, maximising space on the mezzanine floor.
Peter concluded, ‘At Ion Glass we treat every project
individually, with a dedicated team who will take your
idea from concept to completion, including accurate surveys, full drawings as required, design and commissioning
of manifestations and bespoke furniture and fittings. Every
detail is carefully considered to ensure the result meets all
the criteria, however challenging the brief. Doors have
such a big impact on the look, feel and functionality of
the building - it’s so important to get it right! If you’re
considering structural glass for your doors, porch or
anywhere else within your building please get in touch,
we’ll be delighted to help.
