○ Application of Digital Approaches and
Technology :
· Consultants usage of digital

standard practice.

GIS data increasing AND becoming
a key basis for core content in EIA
reports - maps and images related to
baseline / impact areas.
•
More use of computer modelling for
assessment of relevant environmental
topics – air quality, noise.
•
Use of 3D images and video fly
throughs to demonstrate what the
operational site is expected to look
like, to help contextualise the project
and aid Government and Stakeholder
understanding.
· Federal Ministry digital technology uptake

Federal Ministry’s website.
•
Investment in ICT hardware and
support facilities
○ HQ : Improvements to Wifi , printers,
scanners, etc.
○ GIS facility [Note : currently not
functional]
○ Electronic copies of EIA Reports
stored on hard drives at HQ.
•
The Ministry has experienced some
issues with online EIA systems
provided by a 3rd party, which
currently means part of the Ministry’s
initial steps along a more digitised EIA
approach are not currently available.
[Note: details to be confirmed in
