Walks from EYH
THORNEY ISLAND
This is a great 8 mile/13 km circular walk direct from the marina on the footpath
that follows the foreshore (part of the Sussex Border path). If you go clockwise
you get the inland section over at the beginning.
You leave by the footpath from Osprey Quay across to Thorney Road to cut across
the top of Thorney Island before following the footpath around the shoreline to
arrive back in the marina by the seawall beyond D pontoon.
WALKING TO LANGSTONE
This 5m/8km walk from Emsworth uses shoreline paths and an inland route
through Nore Barn Woods with great views down the Harbour.
BROOKS MEADOW NATURE RESERVE
This Local Nature Reserve consists of five acres of grassland edged by woods
with two streams and is home to plenty of birds, insects and wildflowers as
well as the elusive water vole. The nearest entrance to the marina is off
Lumley Road. Head north out of the marina past Slipper Mill Pond,
cross the A259 and take Lumley Road. Then turn left along the public
footpath opposite The Rookery, cross the small bridge then turn right
through the small gate next to the wooden five bar red gate.
