Emsworth
Emsworth is a picturesque harbour side village with plenty of pubs, restaurants
and small shops. There are two tidal mill ponds to east and west and the town
has a long history of oyster fishing and boat building. During the 18th century
Emsworth was the main port in Chichester Harbour and by 1870 over 50 fishing
boats were based here.
A SHORT WALK INTO EMSWORTH
Leave the marina heading north past the workshops and the end of
A pontoon. Walk past Slipper Cottages and take the footpath signposted left
across Slipper Mill Pond. This scenic path takes you down the middle of the
Mill Pond emerging onto the A259 near the Lord Raglan pub. Turn left past
the pub and follow the road round into the centre of Emsworth.
