Drawing in thelandscapeI find it essential to draw, paint andphysically experience the landscape inorder to form thoughts first hand whichcan be developed and reinforced later byreading what others have written. Theseconcepts, possibly already described indetail by others, become precious whenthey are discovered first hand. Many ofmy paintings are abstracted as they areabout the concept rather than the site. But there often comes a point when theabstraction is too great and the link tothe landscape is broken.
