Stage 1 > Preparation and Brief
1.5.6.5
Begin to compile a record of all key persons involved in the
project, together with addresses, phone numbers, e-mail, etc.
Check that names, titles or descriptions are correct. Circulate to
all concerned.
1.5.6.6
Review how in-house quality management procedures will be
applied to the project. These may include the preparation of a
Project Execution Plan in an appropriate form.
A Project Execution Plan provides a mechanism to link the
specific requirements of the project to an office quality
management system which might already exist. It will not
necessarily mean the development of a new document or
procedures over and above those that already exist.
Refer to the RIBA Quality Management Toolkit.
1.5.6.7
Review the Site Information and undertake Feasibility Studies.
1.5.6.8
Prepare the Handover Strategy.
The Handover Strategy includes the requirements for phased
handovers, commissioning, training of staff or other factors
crucial to the successful occupation of a building. On some
projects, the Building Services Research and Information
Association (BSRIA) Soft Landings process is used as the basis
for formulating the strategy and undertaking Post-occupancy
Evaluations.
Refer to www.bsria.co.uk/services/design/soft-landings.
Refer to the Post-occupancy Evaluation (POE) activities listed in
chapter ‘Stage 6’ (see pages 284, 287, 288 and 291).
1.5.6.9
Agree the Schedule of Services, Design Responsibility Matrix and
Information Exchanges.
1.5.6.10 Prepare the Project Execution Plan, including the Technology
