Contractor Engagement
It is sound practice always to follow current relevant guidance
and reference should be made to the NBS Guide to Tendering: for
Construction Projects (2011).
Tendering in the local or public authority sectors may also
be subject to standing orders and to the Public Contracts
Regulations 2006 and any subsequent legislation. Where such
legislation applies, it is important that it is followed exactly.
Contractor Engagement activities to be undertaken by the architect as
contract administrator are annotated ‘CA’ in the margin.
As Contractor Engagement is not a separate stage within the RIBA Plan
of Work 2013, there are no actions under the three Ps: Procurement,
Programme and (Town) Planning, and no Sustainability Criteria or UK
Government Information Exchanges. The following sections therefore
only cover Suggested Key Support Tasks.
