6.5.3.9 If a BREEAM assessment has been commissioned you may need
to provide information to the BREEAM assessor in order for the
post-occupancy stage of the assessment to be completed.
A full BREEAM assessment is undertaken in four to five stages (depending
on when the assessor is appointed), comprising: registration, preassessment, initial guidance/design stage assessment, construction and
post-construction review/final certification. A BREEAM certificate will not
be issued until after the post-construction stage of the assessment has
been completed.

POE activities
6.5.3.10 Check to see if the client wishes to undertake a BREEAM In-Use
assessment of the building in operation and agree the scope of
the service and the fee.
BREEAM In-Use is a scheme to help building managers reduce the
running costs and improve the environmental performance of buildings.
6.5.3.11 Check if the client wants to instruct a POE exercise and, if so,
agree the scope of service and the fee.

the contractor.
