4.5.8.7 Check whether minor amendments to the Technical Design
at this stage go beyond the scope of the planning permission
granted. If so, it may be necessary to deposit amended drawings.
4.5.8.8 Prepare material for submission to the client’s insurers if
necessary and if instructed by the client.
4.5.8.9 Check that all necessary information has been obtained with
respect to building control approval. Hold further discussions
with authorities as necessary to resolve outstanding points.

4.5.8.10 If appropriate, continue discussions with the highways authority
on matters such as access to site, waiting or off-loading
restrictions, siting and design of temporary fencing, hoardings,
etc.
4.5.8.11 If appropriate, discuss with the relevant body (e.g. English
Heritage) protective measures for existing works during site
operations.
4.5.8.12 Submit the building notice or application for approval by
deposit of full plans, if not already submitted, together with
relevant documents, including payment from the client for the
appropriate fee.
Compliance can be certified either by the local authority or by an
approved inspector. A list of approved inspectors can be obtained from
the Construction Industry Council: www.cic.org.uk.

Cost planning
4.5.9.1
Discuss with the design team and the client the effect of detailed
design decisions on the allocations within the cost plan before
implementation.
4.5.9.2
Provide information to the cost consultant for revision of the cost
estimate and cash flow projection (or revise the cost estimate if
appointed to do so).
