Inspections/tests

Make further site/building visits as authorised.

Early on in the stage, arrange to inspect similar projects
elsewhere if appropriate, perhaps accompanied by the client.
Appraise and analyse the schemes. It would be wise to check first
that expenditure is authorised by the client.
3.5.7.3
Arrange for testing and record and analyse results if instructed
by the client. These tests might include production prototypes,
mock-ups, sample components and panels to be tested under
specified conditions and to stipulated methods as appropriate,
for example testing for structural performance, durability,
consistency, etc. of components, fittings and finishes.
Surveys, inspections or specialist investigations and preparation form
part of the Services under the RIBA Standard Agreement 2010 (2012
revision) (item 5). However, where special models are required, services
for this do not form part of the Services under of the RIBA Standard
Agreement 2010 (2012 revision) unless identified under Part 3 ‘Other
Services’.
The Services under the RIBA Standard Agreement 2010 (2012 revision)
includes outline planning submission and pre-application planning
consultation (item 10) as well as submissions to and negotiations with
landlords, freeholders, etc. If further services other than those mentioned
above are required when applying for outline planning permission, these
would need to be identified under Part 3 ‘Other Services’.
