Hold discussions as appropriate with the planning officer.

Discuss with the client the potential benefits in obtaining outline
or full planning approval, if appropriate.

Prepare an application for outline or full planning permission if
appropriate and not yet obtained, and submit the application
if instructed by the client. Advise the client if this application
relates to a listed building or building in a conservation area, and
action accordingly.

Explain to the client the benefits of submitting a pre-application
submission and, if this strategy is agreed, prepare and submit
the necessary drawings and other information. Refer to the
RIBA Good Practice Guide Negotiating the Planning Maze (2009)
for detailed advice on the planning process, and also to the UK
