Site Manager for Davlyn Construction Ellis Boyall previously studied at
DCG and has now returned to the Roundhouse to manage the IoT build.
He said: “I didn’t anticipate I would be coming back. However, I am
absolutely delighted to lead the onsite work for the construction of the IoT.
And it is bringing back many fond memories.”
Set to foster a future–昀椀t workforce for digital and low carbon
economies across the region, the East Midlands Institute of
Technology (EMIoT) is now taking shape – with DCG playing
a pivotal role in what is a bold new era for learning.
Dedicated to promoting clean growth, the EMIoT
represents a far-reaching partnership between
DCG, the University of Derby, Loughborough
College and Loughborough University. In close
collaboration with major employers, they are
working to align higher level skills training and
quali昀椀cations with the region’s speci昀椀c economic
needs.
The EMIoT will nurture the advanced skills which are
the bedrock of the digital and low carbon sectors.
Its research-informed, employer-led courses will
help businesses to upskill their workforce and
enable students to build technical mastery for the
many careers now emerging in the clean growth
arena.
