The impressive standard
of DCG’s higher education
programmes received an
emphatic endorsement in
the 2023 Teaching Excellence
Framework (TEF) exercise.
The Group was awarded Gold for student outcomes,
Silver for student experience – and Silver overall
– by an expert panel from the Of昀椀ce for Students
(OfS).
The TEF rates universities and colleges for
excellence against minimum standard
requirements. It seeks to ensure that all students
can feel con昀椀dent of a high-quality education
and positive outcomes.
DCG, which offers a growing range of HNCs, HNDs,
HTQs, Foundation Degrees and Honours Degrees,
received extensive praise from the assessment
panel across key areas. These included its tailored
student support, its pastoral care, its focus on the
student voice and its excellent completion and
progression rates.
The 昀椀nal report stated: “DCG is committed to
providing a high-quality teaching and learning
experience, aligned to student needs and
characteristics and employer requirements, and
extending opportunities for all students, irrespective
of background.
“DCG has a highly supportive learning environment
and students have access to, and use, dedicated
Academic Support Coaches to develop their
academic skills, presentation skills and con昀椀dence.”
Overall, the student experience
is excellent, life chances are
enhanced, and satisfaction is
above expectations. DCG offers
opportunities in higher education
that would not be otherwise
available to some students.”
