TWENTY | STRATEGIC PRIORITY ONE
GREENING THE
DCG ESTATE
In the journey to net zero greenhouse gas emissions
by 2050, DCG makes its mark by embedding sustainable
development in every aspect of its curriculum and in
the high-quality training it offers to employers.
But decisive climate action begins at home – and
the Group is eager to practise what it preaches.
The need to reduce DCG’s carbon footprint is the
cornerstone of all new campus developments
and a robust action plan is in place to improve
resource conservation, recycling, pollution
reduction, waste elimination and environmentfriendly travel across the entire estate
The positive impact of this work has already
attracted international attention: a Broom昀椀eld Hall
project to replace ageing coal-昀椀red boilers with
modern air source heat pumps won a top industry
award. The scheme prevailed in the People’s Choice
category at the European Heat Pump Awards in
Brussels.
