CHARACTER
DCG continues to build on its standing as the UK’s 昀椀rst further
education provider to achieve the College of Character
kitemark. The accolade recognises the Group’s commitment
to instilling the qualities which help students become
well-rounded, industrious and responsible citizens.
The College of Character status is also testament to
the values-driven personal and skills development
programme enjoyed by the entire student
population. The accent is on:
• Performance character development,
promoting qualities such as team-working,
time management, resilience, con昀椀dence, drive,
verbal and written communication, and positive
behaviours for the workplace
• Intellectual character development including
critical thinking, self-re昀氀ection, research skills
and curiosity
• Civic character development, covering issues
such as pride in place, 昀椀nancial awareness,
equality and diversity, health and safety, carbon
literacy and sustainability
