2018 Revisited: Which three, if any, of the following do
you think are the main barriers to women drinking beer?

Advertising
For both men and women, the main barrier to
women drinking beer was male oriented
advertising at 27%.
Calorific content
When it came to the calorific content of beer,
men and women differed in that only 14% of
men thought that it was a barrier to women
drinking beer while 20% of women stated this
reason as their reason for not choosing beer at
20%.
Being judged by others
Thirdly, and surprisingly, men and women
chose ‘being judged by others’ at 20%.
Volume, glassware and health implications
The volume of liquid was the fourth reason
chosen for women not drinking beer.
The choice of glassware available for beer came
in as the fifth barrier.
9% of women said a negative health implication
was a barrier.
