All operatives / drivers must be capable of carrying out safety inspections & hold a
CSCS /CPCS/DCPC certificate (or similarly approved) for the plant / vehicle operated or work activity they
intend to carry out and must use a Safe System of Working (SSoW) in that activity. YOU’RE responsible.
All hand held equipment must also be inspected prior to its use, to ensure it is in good order and to identify
whether any work equipment intended for use can be operated, adjusted and is maintained as intended by the
manufacturer for its safe use. If YOU decide it’s not safe then don’t use it.

cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training,
for the type of work, qualifications and Competence.
provides a registration card scheme acknowledged by industry for those involved in plant operations,
recognising skills, knowledge and understanding, qualifications and Competence.
certificates are necessary to become a Large Goods Vehicle driver. You must have a full car licence
and get a Professional Driving Qualification, the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence
This requires a medical certificate from your Doctor and a DCPC training course every 5 years.
A medical examination report is required after 45 years age every 5 years & annually after 65 years.
Certificate of Professional Competence required by the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA)
for the operational management of LGV’s.
Van & Car drivers
must meet minimum eyesight rules and obtain a driving licence document which
authorises its holder to operate various types of motor vehicle on highways and some other roads to which the
public have access. Applicants and licence holders have a Legal Duty to notify the DVLA of any injury or illness
that would have a likely impact on safe driving ability. Anyone with a medical condition likely to cause a sudden
disabling event at the wheel, or who is unable to control their vehicle safely for any other reason, must not
drive any type of vehicle (or construction plant). The D Morgan Company Vehicle Scheme applies to
use of Vans and Cars which is a set of guidance and rules.
Highway Code is a set of information / guidance & mandatory rules for all road users in the UK and its
objective is to promote road safety. It’s YOUR responsibility to drive safely. If the Courts revoke your Licence
you are UNFIT to drive. The D Morgan Alcohol, Drugs, Substance abuse (or use) policy applies.
