Youth & Community Café
CYCD is located at the edge of a
neighbourhood / secondary commercial
district that has variety of shops.
CYCD also has its own community with a
daily foot fall of over 300 people in
average spending 3 to 4 hours a day in the
centre.
Our learners spend their break}me with in
the centre and suggested café facili}es.
We expanded our Youth Café to a
Community Café providing refreshments
sta昀昀ed by volunteers.
Through running the café, volunteers
learns a wide range of skills from customer
service to handling cash as well as making
the products i.e sandwiches, tea, co昀昀ee
and more. In addi}on they improve their
English speaking and listening skills.

One of the most signi昀椀cant
achievement of the CYCD Youth Café
was its ability to support and fund
the volunteers and young people in
achieving a Level 2 Food and
Hygiene Cer}昀椀ca}on. This
cer}昀椀ca}on opens the door to a
range of job opportuni}es in the
food industry.
