Ruggedised MTP® Break-out Unit
Intex pre-terminated assemblies are an innovative evolution of the popular Fibre Fox MTP assemblies. The unique connector
housing (patent pending) not only prevents damage to the connector during installation, but also provides a rugged pulling
eye. Then, once installed, the cap incorporating the pulling eye can be removed, and the housing becomes a permanent
protection cover for the MTP connector, locking onto specially designed panel mount bulkheads with a simple twist action.
When used with Intex pre-terminated assemblies, the Intex Break-out Unit provides a simple cost effective method of
breaking out a High Density MTP connector to traditional simplex/duplex connectors. Once the Intex pre-terminated
assembly has been installed, the pulling cap is removed, and the break out unit is plugged in. The patent pending housings
are then screwed together to provide a safe, rugged interconnection.
The integrated strain relief gives the added benefit of allowing the use of standard internal/external loosetube cables –
offering a wide range of cost effective cable types ranging from OM1 (62.5/125) through to OM3 (50/125) and OS2 (9/125).
The Intex System allows for rapid installation of High Density fibre connections and is available in a wide range of cost
effective cable types ranging from OM1 (62.5/125) through to OM3 (50/125) and OS2 (9/125). The units can be supplied
with a wide range of terminations including LC, FC, SC and ST. An Intex MTP-MTP® Coupler is also available to allow Intex
pre-terminated assemblies to be joined in a rugged housing.
The Fibre Fox System is manufactured in our advanced fibre termination facility under stringent laboratory conditions, and is
quality controlled to rigorous standards using advanced interferometer inspection equipment.
