Cairngorms National Park Partnership Plan 2022-27 - Other - Page 94
C10. Cultural heritage
The historic environment, history and culture of the National Park is a foundation of our communities and
economy that is not always shared or valued sufficiently. There is also a key link between the culture of the
Cairngorms and the natural environment itself, with people having played such a significant role in shaping the
landscapes of the National Park for centuries. There are opportunities to develop the cultural heritage assets of
the National Park as part of a move to a wellbeing economy.
There is also a need to recognise the role of Scots / Doric in the National Park (alongside that of Gaelic) and to
support its use where appropriate.
OBJECTIVE
Safeguard and promote the Park’s cultural heritage and
provide opportunities for everyone to experience and learn
about the National Park’s outstanding historic environment,
history and culture.
