spanning 450,000sq ft, alongside a
collaboration and skills building, to be
located on the site of the existing Forum
shopping area. The announcement of
Elevate Quarter, a £900m investment for
a life sciences campus located alongside
the existing campus home to GSK, further
strengthens the life science focus.
Moving into the space sector, Airbus
has been awarded £3.9 million from the
UK Space Agency to create a space and
connectivity catalyst at its headquarters
in Stevenage.
Connectivity and transport
infrastructure is key. Stevenage has a new

unlocking further growth for the town
and supporting businesses to expand.
Change has taken place in the centre of
the town. The Town Square - home of the
iconic Clock Tower – has new paving,
bespoke lighting and the restoration of
heritage building frontages based upon
original features. Event Island Stevenage
provides a community space for events
and play, bordered by artworks given
listed status by Heritage England. Market
Place has a new garden play trail to
improve accessibility and boost footfall.
