DUST MANAGEMENT STATICAIR
What is StaticAir?
14
StaticAir systems use electrostatic technology to reduce fine
particulates in the air surrounding
them. They are suited for indoor and
outdoor environments, and provide
a silent, low energy, environmentally
friendly, low maintenance solution
for dust reduction.
How Do Static Air Systems Work?
When a charge is applied to the wires in
the system they emit negative ions. These
ions charge the fine particulates in the
surrounding area, and the now charged fine
particulates are attracted to the grounded
base plate, at the core of each unit.
What is particulate matter (PM)?
Particulate matter is a mix of solid and
liquid particles suspended into the air.
Common examples include: mould, dust,
pollen and smoke. Some PM is considered
harmful when inhaled.
PM can be categorised into the following
sizes, including PM0.1, PM1, PM2.5 and
PM10. PM10 stands for particulate matter
with an aerodynamic diameter smaller than
10 µm and PM0.1 is smaller than 0.1µm.
All PM under 10 µm are considered to be
respirable dust which can have effects on
the respiratory system and cause more
serious health issues including asthma
and COPD (Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease).
The optimum particulate range for
StaticAir units to be most effective is
between PM0.1 and PM10.
PMX reduces fine particulate matter in
the immediate indoor environment. It is
designed to hang from the ceiling, and uses
electro-static technology to remove dust
and particulate from the air. PMX is mainly
developed for indoor use.
