COMPUTERIZING
FOKONTANIES
MADA-BASE is a project aimed at computerizing all of the “Fokontany” (villages) in
Madagascar and connecting them all in a network using a web-based application.
This is an app to manage the population and also to collect important data to better
manage the allocation of aid and emergency support in crisis situations such as the
COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID
TRACKER
A group of young programmers have developed a web and mobile app
to assist with locating and reporting suspected cases of COVID-19 on the
island. The app also seeks to provide a decision-making tool for the antiCOVID-19 operational command center to check information, allocate
response teams and better locate reported cases. To increase access to the
app, the sponsor of Covid Tracker proposes to form a partnership with telephone operators as an alternative to USSD-based reporting.
