WORLD OF THE PATRIARCHS MAP
God called Abraham to leave his homeland in Mesopotamia and travel to Canaan, which he promised to give
to Abraham’s descendants. Abraham and his son Isaac lived out their lives in Canaan, and then in a time
of famine Isaac’s son Jacob moved to Egypt with his entire family. The patriarchs erected numerous altars,
demonstrating their devotion to God and their understanding of sacrifice and worship.
