around us and forget God’s assistance, we start to sink and are overwhelmed by our dependencies and character flaws. If we want to make continued progress, we need to focus on Christ.
In Matthew 15:21-28 a Gentile woman showed great perseverance and faith, and Jesus rewarded her
for it. When we seek recovery, we must truly believe that God is able to effect our recovery. We also must be
prepared to persist in our program, not giving up even when there seems to be little hope for success. God
will reward our efforts if we are fully committed to following his will and prove it by our actions.
