MATTHEW 1
The Ancestors of Jesus
Matthew 1:21
God specifically chose Jesus’ name, which
means “The Lord saves,” to reveal the

God saves us from being separated
from him by our sin. Memorize this verse,
then ask your parents or guardians what
your name means!

The Birth of Jesus the Messiah
18This
is how Jesus the Messiah was
born. His mother, Mary, was engaged
to be married to Joseph. But before the
marriage took place, while she was still
a virgin, she became pregnant through
the power of the Holy Spirit. 19Joseph,
to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace
her publicly, so he decided to break the
engagement quietly.
30:

and ascends to heaven.
