DAY 9
Forgiveness
As a child in God’s family, you’ll still make bad choices.
But God’s love for you is so great that he will forgive you!
He does that because he loves you!
Read: 1 John 1:8-10 and memorize verse 9.
Think: What excuses are you tempted to make when you do
something wrong? Instead, what should you do when you sin?
Pray: “Dear God, I confess to you my sin of ___________. I
admit that it was wrong. Thank you that Jesus died on the cross
to forgive me for this sin. Amen.”
Do: Write down ways that you have disobeyed God recently.
Look at each one and confess it through prayer. Cross out each
sin. Then let this remind you of God’s loving forgiveness. Be
sure to thank him.
Spiritual Goal
DAY 10
You have been a Christian for a short time, and you’re
learning that you have a lifelong relationship with Christ.
So what’s your long-range plan? Becoming like Christ is the
ultimate goal.
Read: Romans 12:2 and memorize it.
Think: In what ways is your life “new”? How can you become
more like Christ?
Pray: “Dear Jesus, more than anything else, I want to become
more like you. I know that you will be patient with me and help
me. Thank you. Amen.”
Do: List at least five ways that you want to become more like
Have you ever found yourself in one of these situations?
A friend has heard about your church and its youth
programs. She knows you go there and asks something
like this: “What does that church teach? What do you
believe at that place anyway?” You’re not sure how to
put the important aspects of your beliefs into words that
won’t turn your friend off or make you and your church
sound weird.
Someone at school learns about your faith and begins
to make fun of you. You want to answer in a kind and
thoughtful way, but you’re not sure what to say.
A close friend is hurting. You want to
encourage her and tell her about Jesus’
love and forgiveness, but you don’t
know how.
Your friend is telling you about her religion.
Then she asks you what you believe. You
wonder how you can tell her about Jesus
without offending her.
