WHAT JESUS’ DEATH
MEANS FOR ME
The Bible promises that when we put our hope
and trust in Jesus Christ, all kinds of supernatural—
yet very real—changes happen to us and in us:

The WAY
Everyone wants to be loved and accepted. Everyone wants a life that
is free from guilt and full of joy and purpose. But we hear many different messages about the best way to have all of these things—and
that can be confusing. We often hear that having popularity, success,
or money is what life is all about. But these messages are wrong.
There is only one way to peace with God, forgiveness of sins,
and eternal life. Before going to die on the cross, Jesus told his
disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can
come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Jesus is the way, the only way.
The Separation
The bad news is that all people have been separated from God and
his gift of eternal life. We’re separated because we are sinners; that
means that we all often do what’s wrong and don’t do what’s right.
It’s in our nature.
Romans 3:23 clearly states, “For everyone has sinned; we all
fall short of God’s glorious standard.” In other words, no one who
has ever lived (except Jesus) can get to God on their own merit.
Something has to happen. Actually, something did happen.
