What is it that you love the most about curating
wedding florals?
The couples! I love meeting, chatting and getting
to know the couple, who are about to embark on
one of the most exciting journeys of their lives. I
love hearing their story and vision and the
challenge of translating this to exceed their
expectations.
I love the design aspect of wedding florals and
feel like you can push boundaries with floral and
style elements creating uniqueness for couples.
What are the initial questions you ask a couple
when establishing their vibe and style of a
wedding and being able to provide the perfect
florals to match?
Firstly, I want to get to know them as a couple. I
find an initial friendly, general conversation can
not only create an environment of trust between
us but also paint a picture for me of what their
relationship is. I follow up with a series of
questions targeting their expectations for the
day:
3-5 words describing their overall day?
What do they want their guests to experience?
Are they drawn to any particular colours?
I also encourage my clients to create a Pinterest
board whilst not going overboard this can help
my couples who are struggling to find what they
do and don’t like. After which we can sit down
and discuss to refine the overall style and vibe.
For our budget-conscious couples, what are
some tips or tricks to ensure the optimal impact
without the huge price tag that often comes with
wedding Florals?
Don’t feel as though you have to include things in
your wedding day because they are “traditional”.
Think about what aspects of the florals and
styling you care about and inject more of your
budget into those areas.
Try not to spread your budget to thin, focus on
the bigger parts of the day that will have more of
an overall impact and opt-out on the little things.
