1. Budget. Determine your budget before you start trying
on gowns. Consider not only the dress itself but the cost
of alterations, which can range from a few hundred
dollars to a few thousand depending on what alterations
are required.
2. Venue & Season. It's a good idea to have your venue and
date secured before going shopping for your dress as
this may inform your choice. That gorgeous longsleeved gown may not work for a mid-December
outdoor ceremony or your church may have rules
around dress code and not be so enthusiastic about a
silky bias cut gown with a plunge neckline.
3. Body Shape & Personal Style. Think about the clothes
you wear already that make you feel amazing. Maybe
there's a specific shape top you love or perhaps you
have amazing legs that you would like to show off?
Keeping this in mind while browsing, you can pick
dresses that have these features.
4.
Research and Inspiration. Most bridal boutiques will
have a limited time within your appointment to try on
gowns so it can be helpful to bring along images of
gowns you like to show the Stylist. Sometimes a gown
can look very different on to what it will hanging. Your
Stylist is an expert in helping people find their dream
gown so be sure to use them!

5. Lead times. Be aware of lead times and be sure to be
shopping with plenty of time to spare, but not too much
time that you will second guess your selection. Most
gowns take 6 - 9 months production time. To avoid rush
fees or disappointment we recommend you start your
dress shopping 12 - 9 months prior to your wedding.
6. Who will come with you. Some boutiques do have a cap
on how many people can come along to your
appointment. Bring along trusted friends or family
members who you know will give you honest feedback
with pushing their own opinions and understand your
style and preferences. Choosing the right people to take
along your wedding dress journey will make the process
more enjoyable and less overwhelming.
7. What to take with you to your appointment. Be sure to
wear something that is easy to take on and off along with
nude underwear. If you plan on wearing shape wear it is
a good idea to bring this, along with a strapless bra.
Don’t wear too much make up or fake tan as this can
easily transfer onto the dresses.
