Our impact
Case study
Tutor Trust and De La Salle School, St Helens
De La Salle School in St Helens has been a partner with
Tutor Trust since 2020/21.
At De La Salle, education centres around
Catholic values and personal relationships,
emphasising academic excellence, faith
formation, inclusion, respect for the
individual, service and social justice.
In 2023/24 we supported:
• 53 young people in Year 10 with
science tutoring
• 34 in Year 11 with science tutoring.
“
There are so many different
reasons why students don’t always
progress as they are able to, and
when you see the positive impact
that tutoring can have, even for
creating a safe space to work in, it
is very humbling, and encouraging
that small things have a big impact
in people’s lives.

to tuition. She described her favourite
moment as:
“
Going through past exam
questions and being guided on
how to answer future questions
like them.
”
Adam* achieved an average grade of
4.5 in his science GCSEs and believed
in the power of tuition, saying:
I feel it helps me get better
“
at science.
