To helpensure we are working with the youngpeople that need it most we have de昀椀nedour target population. This includespupils who fall within any or all of thefollowing criteria:• A young person eligible for PupilPremium funding• A ‘cared for’ young person• A young person in AlternativeProvision (AP)• A young person attending a schoolserving a high percentage of pupilseligible for Pupil Premium funding• A young person receiving TutoringPlus tuition (including those whoare persistently / severely absentfrom school).Our pupils often face signi昀椀cantsystemic barriers which result in themhaving the furthest to go in terms ofeducational attainment. 51% of our Year6 pupils this year came to us signi昀椀cantlybelow the expected standard (startingscore between 80-94) and 35% of ourYear 11 pupils were at Grade 2 or below.But with our tuition, our pupils madehuge progress:• Overall, our primary pupils made7.07 scaled score points progress.This equates to approximately 30additional raw marks out of 110 acrossthe three maths papers and a gain ofapproximately 10 additional raw marksout of 50 on the single reading paper.• Overall, secondary pupils on ourmainstream programmes made averageprogress of 0.86 grades which is veryclose to one whole grade of progress.92%Of the 6,016 young peopleserved this year, 92%were within our targetpopulation.Our impact isn’t just evidenced throughour exam results, our stakeholders tellus too:• 79% of our pupils agreed or stronglyagreed that our tutoring helped themmake progress• 91% of our schools said they wouldrecommend us to another schoolor college• 98% of tutors rated their experienceof tutoring as good or excellent.▲ Oasis Academy Oldham, Year 11 maths pupilswith tutor A昀昀an HabibTutor Trust Impact Report 2023/2411
