Our tutors have access to high-quality training and supportBefore starting work, all our tutorscomplete our training programme,developed with partners at the Universityof Manchester. For those who aren’tquali昀椀ed teachers, this takes at least15 (unpaid) hours, consisting of a mixof online self-paced learning and livesessions on Zoom. There are assessmentpoints throughout, so completion ofour training itself demonstrates tutors’commitment to giving young peopletheir best.And, of course, all of our tutors havean enhanced DBS and barred list check,and receive comprehensive safeguardingtraining so they know what to do if theyhave concerns about a young person.Once they’re tutoring, we ask them tocomplete yearly compulsory safeguardingrefresher training, but this is just the start.We run a comprehensive programme oflearning and development for our tutors,ranging from online self-paced learningon our Thinqi platform to live sessionswith members of our Quality Team andoutside experts.
