A year of celebrations
Saturday 4 May –
Waite 100 Gala
The Waite 100 Gala will be an exclusive
black-tie, stand-up cocktail affair

Waite Gift. Featuring food by celebrity
chef Matt Moran and supported by
East End Cellars, this Night of Nights
is a once-in-a-lifetime event not to
be missed.

In its 100th year, the Waite campus
has become home to one of the largest
concentrations of agricultural and wine
research and teaching expertise in the
southern hemisphere and fittingly, we
will celebrate on the lawns adjacent the
historic Urrbrae House where the
Waite family lived from 1877 until
1922, under the enchanting lights of
a remarkable sail cloth tent.
Events planner 2024
The celebrations for our 150th have already
begun – the party has officially started.
In O’Week we handed out cakes to
students and staff on our campuses to
welcome them to this milestone year.
Kaurna Day on February 27 was our
official launch - an immersive day of
Indigenous culture. It began with a sunrise
smoking ceremony ahead of a day full of
free music, dance, storytelling and food.
In March we partnered with the Adelaide
Festival for an epic production: Floods of
Fire. Over two days, it connected our
different cultural stories of creation to our
natural world and extreme weather events.
Some of the events for the rest of the
year are listed to the right – there's plenty of
fun still to come. For the most up-to-date
information, and so you don’t miss out, we
recommend you keep an eye on our 150th
celebration events page on our website –
accessible by the QR code on this page.

allowing guests to see first-hand where
this important work is carried out.

the South
What does it mean to speak from the
South? What unique perspectives does
this vantage point bring to the pressing
issues currently facing the world, such
as growing inequality, climate change,
the impacts of colonialism and the mass
