Duration: 5-7 hours of self-paced eLearning plus 2 x 2.5-hour
Facilitator led virtual sessions
Mental Health First Aid is the support that is offered to a person experiencing a mental illness, the
worsening of a mental illness or a mental health crisis. It is the help and support that is offered
until the person receives the professional support that they need or until the crisis resolves.
This course will teach you about the most common types of mental illness in Australia (anxiety,
depression, psychosis and substance use) and associated crises (panic attacks, suicidal thoughts
etc.). Upon completion of this training and the accreditation quiz, participants will become
accredited in Mental Health First Aid for 3 years.
This course can only be delivered by a licenced Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
