WELCOME TO A NEW ERA!
W
elcome to the 2022 Latz Report
Yearbook.
In last year’s editorial I marked the
Yearbook’s 25th anniversary, looking
back at how I came to launch it in 1996.
But this year, I’m looking forward. We’ve
entered a new era for the Yearbook, having launched a new cloud
based, self-service updating system. From this year forward
all companies who are listed in the Yearbook can update their
listing details and logos, simply by logging into our system.
This is the first Yearbook using this system and it’s run
remarkably smoothly. This is thanks to my colleague Linda Brown
who selected and commissioned the programmers, oversaw
the project and created all of the instructional material for our
customers. We now have a more efficient, robust system that’s
less likely to allow any errors to sneak through. Thanks Linda!
I’d also like to thank our Media Sales Manager, Ed Price
for doing such a great job. As you can see – and feel if you’re
holding the print version – this is the biggest Yearbook ever.
There are not only more advertisements, but more companies
listed than ever before. Our mailing list has also been steadily
growing as more people enter the industry and request copies.
Clearly print is not yet dead – at least in niches such as the
Yearbook. But our online flipbook version will continue on The
Latz Report website at www.thelatzreport.com.au/yearbook
Expo, that we’ll be holding at Royal Randwick Racecourse,
Sydney, 25th-26th November 2022.
For those of you who are ‘industry veterans’, you probably
remember the old Bicycling Australia Show that we ran for
many years, alternating between Melbourne and Sydney.
As I said recently when announcing the new Micromobility
Conference and Expo in The Latz Report, we’re getting the band
back together, but this time, it will be electric.
In other words, many aspects of this new event will be
similar to the former Bicycling Australia Show, and every
type of conventional bicycle will be welcome. But we’re also
embracing new markets and new technology. Hence the new
name. There will be a heavy emphasis on test riding, with at
least three separate test tracks set up on the spacious grounds.
Make sure you’re subscribed to The Latz Report for further
details and updates throughout the year. We look forward to
welcoming you there!
