Advocating for Policy ChangeIn 2019, GFN began a partnership with the Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic(FLPC) to create The Global Food Donation Policy Atlas. The goal was to address the mostpressing legal questions and barriers to food waste reduction and food donation around theworld. During that time, GFN and FLPC conducted research on food loss and waste policiesand trends in 25 countries. We have seen a steady increase in food waste or food donationpolicies during this time.In particular: six countries enacted new national food loss and waste or food donationpolicies, five countries enacted new or enhanced liability protections, and five countriesimplemented food safety for donation policies.EXPLORE:16The Global Food Donation Policy Atlas
