Yuree Kensaku is an internationally renowned contemporary
Thai artist, known for her diverse creative approaches.
Her work spans painting, mural art, animation, sculpture,
performance art, and the adaptation of her designs into
various products. A distinctive feature of Yuree9s work is
the use of vibrant colors and charming characters that
often conceal themes of sorrow, suffering, and the darker
aspects of life and society. Born in 1979, Yuree graduated
from the Department of Visual Arts at Bangkok University.
She has continuously exhibited her work both domestically
and internationally. Some notable solo exhibitions include
those held at 100 Tonson Gallery, Yokohama Museum of
Art, Gallery Ver, Soka Art Center in Taipei and Tainan,
Taiwan, and China World Trade Center in Beijing. She has
also participated in numerous international exhibitions,
such as The 4th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art
(2014), Imaginarium: Over the Ocean, Under the Sea at the
Singapore Art Museum at 8Q (2016), Thailand Biennale Krabi
2018, and Bangkok Art Biennale 2020. Furthermore, Yuree9s
works are held in the collections of prestigious museums,
including the Mori Art Museum, Yokohama Museum of Art,
Singapore Art Museum, and MAIIAM Contemporary Art

Q ?Q shapes and atmosphere of her earlier pieces reflect a
"B#?52!BN#0NOR?P?322>PO/%O5!?P2N%#0N5?/> simplicity reminiscent of cartoon illustrations. However, the
intense themes, anxieties, and the dark side of society are

evident in the emotions conveyed by her works and their
titles. In this piece, Yuree may be focusing on environmental
issues and their impact on human life, depicted through
a gloomy, oppressive cityscape.
