Chamruang Vichienket, a national artist in the field of visual
arts (sculpture) for the year 1996, was born in 1931 in Kalasin
province. He began his serious art education at the School
of Fine Arts between 1948-1949. Subsequently, he pursued
further studies at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and
Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, completing a three-year
course and receiving his diploma from Silpakorn University in
1952. While continue studying in the fourth and fifth years in
1954, Professor Silpa Bhirasri assigned Chamruang Vichienket
to teach in the sculpture department at the College of Fine
Arts. Later, he passed the civil service examination and
became a teacher. From then on, Chamruang engaged
in teaching art alongside continuous artistic creation until
his passing in 2021, at the age of 90.
