Chalood Nimsamer was a prominent Thai artist who played a significant role in
the art and art education scene in Thailand. He served as a teacher, professor,
and advisor for various art organizations, nurturing numerous contemporary Thai
artists and fostering the arts. Chalood was honored as the National Artist in the
field of visual arts (sculpture) in 1998. Throughout his career, he continuously
created art until his passing in 2015, showcasing his interest in diverse forms and
techniques. During his student years, Chalood was interested in presenting Thai rural
lifestyles, traditions, and cultures through art, both in painting and printmaking
formats. He blended the essence of Folk Art into his work, incorporating it with
shapes, colors, and elements. After studying abroad and returning to Thailand,
Chalood focused on abstract art, particularly emphasizing techniques to create
texture, scraping, and thick paint application, resulting in profound dimensional
aspects in his paintings. Additionally, Chalood also experimented with sculpture
techniques extensively, drawing inspiration from rural lifestyles. His artwork
